A Sampling of Some of Our Completed Projects

Metro Atlanta.  EMG has assisted in the conservation of a number of small to medium sized tracts of land in and around the Atlanta area.  These lands will remain protected from urban sprawl while providing improved air quality, noise reduction, and public benefit through recreational opportunities.  Metro Atlanta, the "city in a forest", is known for its trees and EMG is proud to help further this reputation.

Northwest Georgia. Approximately 2,000 acres conserved consisting of pine and mature old growth hardwood forest and a multitude of plant and wildlife species. Property boasts some of the most scenic long range views in NW Georgia from either of its two parallel running mountaintops. A secluded valley between the twin mountains serves to form the headwaters of two named Coosa River tributaries.

Upper Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee. Approximately 2,300 acres of mature hardwood forest on moderate to steep slopes up to 2,800 feet in elevation. A conservation easement ensures the protection of 6 named streams, 2 freshwater ponds, numerous high elevation scenic views, and a thriving wildlife population. This land boasts the highest elevations in Tennessee west of the Great Smoky Mountains, its preservation deemed to be of "Very High Importance" to the State of Tennessee.

Eastern Cumberland Plateau, Tennessee.  EMG has conserved and implemented forest management plans on a number of different tracts totaling over 8,000 acres in this portion of the Cumberland Plateau. Much of this acreage boasts scenic long range views from the eastern escarpment of the plateau. The preservation of these lands enhances the natural beauty, watershed quality, and wildlife populations in four East Tennessee counties.

Appalachian Mountains, West Virginia. 1,800 scenic acres conserved consisting of Appalachian oak/hickory forest and the headwaters of several streams important to the State of West Virginia. This property also contains a coal mine reclamation, a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and approximately 35 miles of low impact recreation trails available for public use.

Natural Resource Investment Consultants

Northern New Mexico.  EMG assisted a private landowner in conserving approximately 3,000 acres of his personal ranch.  The landowner received the maximum tax benefit from his contribution while retaining ownership and recreational use of the land and was able to reserve several future home sites within the easement area.

Middle Georgia. Approximately 1,400 acres of mature hardwood/pine forest among planted loblolly pine stands and agricultural fields in the Piedmont Region of Georgia. The property has been permanently protected and is used only for recreational and agricultural purposes. Contains several tributaries of the Oconee River as well as wetland areas and a thriving wildlife population.
